UFC Fight Night: Eye vs Calvillo - Predictions & Breakdown

An underrated card that will give many new faces the opportunity to shine!
I am going to briefly breakdown each of these bouts and give you the most likely winner based their history. Each MMA News Now team member will also be offering their predictions.
Jordan Espinosa (14-7) v Mark De La Rosa (11-4)
This fight is flying well under the radar and I believe that has the potential to be very entertaining for a few different reasons. This bout is taking place in the loaded 135 lbs. division. It seems that the smaller the fighters are, the more skilled they tend to be. Although neither of these guys are highly touted they are still high-level and guaranteed to put on a skillful fight.
The most glaring factor that excites me in this fight is that these men will be likely fighting for a job. Espinosa has lost his last two bouts and De La Rosa has lost three consecutively. That means that the loser might be released from his UFC contract. These men will be scrapping with their livelihood on the line and are sure to give this fight everything that they have.
Andre Fili (20-7) v Charles Jourdain (10-2)
Charles "Air" Jourdain is one of the hottest Canadian prospects in all of MMA and well be looking to build off of his late-fight finish of Doo Ho Choi last December. In front of the young Canadian sits his toughest test yet.
Andre Fili is a UFC veteran who has looked very good in his last several bouts. A tough decision loss this January may have stifled Fili but he will be looking to use experience to secure a bounce back win against Jourdain.
Charles Rosa (12-4) v Kevin Aguilar (17-3)
Both of these fighters are fairly new to the UFC. This main card placement will be a huge opportunity for both guys to impress the fans and the UFC brass. Don't be shocked to see one of these guys step up to the plate and deliver big come fight night.
Karl Roberson (9-2) v Marvin Vettori (14-4-1)
Out of all the fights on this entire card, this one definitely has me the most excited. Both of these guys have very bright futures in the middleweight division. One given in every single MMA fight is that it will start standing. On the feet, Roberson is certainly the more skilled technical fighter. With that being said, his power has come into question. If he can't finish Vettori he will be in for a long night.
Although Vettori isn't as technically sound as Roberson on the feet, he has the skills to grind Roberson into to the ground. Vettori works relentlessly and is one of the most underated fighters in the entire UFC and will be looking to work his way through Roberson.
Jessica Eye (15-7-[1]) v Cynthia Calvillo (8-1-1)
Many fans and analysts criticized this bout when it was originally announced for being underwhelming and simply not worthy of a main event slot. This fight has some serious implications for the women's flyweight division.
Eye is trying to secure her first big win since her devastating KO loss to Shevchenko last June. She missed weight and looked very weak at the weigh-ins. With that being said, Eye is a veteran and pulled off a victory in her last fight when she had also missed weight. Eye should be looking to keep the fight standing if she wants to leave with her hand raised.
Calvillo is one of the most promising prospects in all of women's MMA. Calvillo's grappling has not looked the sharpest in recent bouts. If she can find her mojo on the ground once again, Eye will be in for a very rude awakening.
